As a tribute to Oscar Ghiglia’s 80th birthday, the Seminar will focus on the works that Eliot Fisk studied and played for his Master during his years as a student at the Aspen School of Music (Colorado) from 1970 to 1975.
The list of compositions below, a testimony to the intensity of the work carried out together by master and pupil, reflects Eliot Fisk’s musical interests during that period of his life: “it’s what I want to communicate to today’s youth. It is important that the students understand the passion with which we have worked, because sometimes today, this same passion is lacking among young people who sometimes have lost a little the idealism and the hope of those years long gone …
My idea for this Seminar is to pay tribute to these extremely important years in my artistic life and to remember the beautiful hours spent together with Maestro Oscar looking for the Muse del Parnasso! Working together with anyone who has a love for music and a desire to contribute to a better future, I would like to give hope to today’s young people so that they can rediscover this idealism and the beautiful spirit that still breathes at the Accademia Chigiana.”

For the entrance examination, candidates are required to present two pieces of their choice from different periods and in contrasting styles.

During the Seminar students will be able to make an in-depth study of a few of the the pieces on the above list, which they should list on their application (at letter “B”).
Alternatively, it is also possible to indicate pieces beyond those on the list, provided that they are written by a composer included in the list.

For students accepted as active attendees in the Guitar and chamber music Course, the payment of only one application-examination fee is required.
