Fee waivers and Scholarships

The Chigiana Academy waives the attendance fees for one student in each course.
Candidates enrolled as active students may compete by making a written justified request to do so and including it with their application form, declaring whether or not they have an earned income. These waivers will be granted after a merit classification and will consist of a fefund of the paid tuition fee.
Each Instructor will be free to decide the moment for awarding them: either at the beginning of the Course, on the basis of the results of the entrance examination, or at the end of the Course, in consideration of the student’s merit.
Students who have already been awarded a scholarship from other institutions or who arrive late at the entrance examination will not be eligible for a waiver.
No fee waivers are available for attendance of Seminars.

Some scholarships are granted by public Institutions or private Donors to distinguished students of the Accademia Chigiana master classes:

“Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena” Prize

The Bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena is offering again in 2017 € 1.500 to be granted to active students considered deserving by the Commission set up for the purpose.
This year the prize will be awarded to an ensemble in Günter Pichler’s string quartet and chamber music for piano and strings class.
The aim of this prize, which the Bank has intended to be so generous, is to allow the winners to pursue their studies without difficulty and to continue to refine their promising musical gifts. The Prize will be awarded based on the judgment of a commission including a representative of the Bank, M° Nicola Sani, the Artistic Director of the Accademia Chigiana, and the Instructor of the Course.
