Following his studies at the Conservatory of Padua and his 1961 debut in Spoleto, he began a prestigious career which has taken him to all the major theaters of the world, affirming himself as one of the most important baritones of our times. He has sung with the greatest conductors. Among these Riccardo Muti deserves particular mention: after their first collaboration in Florence in 1970, they formed a valuable working relationship.
A formidable interpreter of the romantic repertoire, he has distinguished himself not only in the roles of the principal operas of Verdi and Donizetti but in Mozart and Cimarosa as well.

Renato Bruson teaches singing at the Academy since 2004.
