Born in Buenos Aires, since the Seventies he has been extremely active as a film music composer, particularly in France and in Italy, where he has worked together with directors such as Lattuada, Damiani, Scola, Petri, Wertmüller, Pasolini, Fellini, Rosi and Radford. Numerous his prizes and nominations, from the David of Donatello to the Golden Globe of the foreign press in Italy and the Bafta prize of the British press, from the Silver Ribbon to the Oscar, which have made his sound tracks famous throughout the world. He also carries out an intense activity as pianist and orchestra conductor, with a repertoire that – besides traditional and contemporary literature – favors Latin-American authors and his own works as well.
