Besides organizing its prestigious master classes, the Accademia boasts an intense concert activity throughout the year, starting with Micat in Vertice, the series of chamber music concerts established in 1923 for the opening of the Concert Hall in Palazzo Chigi and still today held from the feast day of Saint Cecilia, 22 November, to April.
The Chigiana International Festival and Summer Academy presents itself as the first high-profile international festival, able to relate production, high musical training and musical distribution.
Among the celebrated musicians who have graced the halls of the Chigiana Academy are musicians such as Daniel Barenboim, Claudio Abbado, Maurizio Pollini, Salvatore Accardo, Uto Ughi, Lilya Zilberstein, Boris Belkin, Jurij Bashmet, Alexander Lonquich, Misha Maisky and many others.
According to tradition, during the Festival personalities of great stature will stand out, such as Max Richter, Daniele Pollini, Matthias Görne, William Kentridge, Roberto Prosseda, David Krakauer, the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, the Klangforum Wien, Jonathan Stockhammer, besides the Chigiana teachers which will hold concerts and masterclasses: Boris Belkin, Lilya Zilberstein, Alessandro Carbonare, Bruno Giuranna, Patrick Gallois, David Geringas, Jurij Bashmet, Antonio Meneses, Franco Petracchi.
